Boomerang

On our last Sunday last October in our little 'ville in Oklahoma a sister in Relief Society came up to me to express her fond wishes for our family and tell us good bye.  She then made a statement that caused both a chuckle and a little bit of a shudder from me, "I expect you might be back sooner than you think.  This place tends to act as a boomerang."

I laughed because I thought, how could that be possible.  We were switching jobs.  Moving completely away.  We were selling our house.  Leaving dear friends.  We were moving on.  I shuddered a bit because I thought, I don't really need that complication in my life.  Why would I make a choice to move if I'm only going to be coming back in a short while.

Well, her statement proved to be prophetic.

We are going back to our berg in Oklahoma.

Yep, you read that right.  We are going to be Oklahomans again after our short six month stint of being Minnesotans and we didn't even experience a true winter.  Sheesh.  We are such wimps!!  Ok, it had nothing to do with the weather.  In fact, I just told Clark the other day he would have been better of moving me in the depths of winter then to tear me away from Minnesota in the spring.  Gosh, there is a lilac bush blooming on every corner.

The long and short of it is this:  it just didn't work out like we were hoping.  Clark took a really great job here that just didn't fit the way he was expecting and planning it to be.  Especially not the way his other job did.  So we are going back.

We feel peace about.  And yes, a bit of excitement about being back with some great friends.  Definitely some sadness in leaving behind family, the MN Mormon Chorale (flying back weekly for rehearsals seems a bit excessive), proximity to the temple, great education, and Target.  Come on, this is headquarters here - like a stone's throw from our house.  Ok, I really would have to get in my car and drive about 20 minutes to actually throw a stone at a Target headquarters building but that was a heck of a lot closer than actually driving to shop at a store in Oklahoma.  But you get my point.

We'll be in an Oklahoman location near you in June.

I think the cookies might have had a little bit to do with it.  The oven on our rental home tends to burn things.
